The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was organized3-days FDP on “Deep Learning”. Mr. Sudipta Mukherjee, Director – Solution Definition and Architecture, Technical Consultant, Sutherland Global Service, Bangalore, was the chief guest for the inaugural function.
Dr. B. Rajalakshmi, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Convener of the FDP, gave welcome address by inviting the gathering which includes around 20 participants from various engineering colleges in and around Karnataka, various department heads and faculty members of New Horizon College of Engineering.
Dr. Prasanth CSR, Professor and Dean Academics, explained the significance of the FDP. Mr. Sudipta Mukherjee, shared his valuable thought about the technologies of the decade and how deep learning is influencing the business market. The session was concluded by proposing vote of thanks by Dr. Jaya, Senior Assistant Professor, CSE, NHCE.
The resource person Dr. Jayakumar Singaram, CTO, Object Automation Software Solution Private Limited, Bangalore, focused on the machine learning concepts by giving an overview about CNN, ANN, using IBM POWERAI.
The resource person Mr. Deepesh Aggarwal, NVIDIA, focused on the deep learning concepts by giving an overview and hands on with building a neural network by using datasets. Participants worked on the provided datasets and built their own neural network.
Mr. Deepesh Agarwal, NVIDIA, Bangalore shared his knowledge about Jetson and the details about how the kit works. He showed a real-time demonstration on a live project of automatic face recognition using neural networks.
Dr. Jayakumar Singaramfocused on the machine learning concepts by giving an overview about CNN, RNN, ANN and CUDA. He also shared his knowledge about Interference App in Android Phone and followed by hands on session with android studio.
Mr. Patrick Samuel, Field Application Engineer, AVNET, Bangaloregave his presentation on Xilinx Acceleration for Cloud and Edge AI/DL.
