Workshop on Data Dive: Data Analysis using Hadoop and Hive

A workshop on “Data Dive: Data Analysis using Hadoop and Hive” was organized by Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with Computer Society of India under HP Center of Excellence for top 30 fifth semester students on 31st October 2022 from 9.00 AM to 1 PM.
The session started with welcome speech by Dr Rachana P, Associate Professor, Department of CSE. Mr Gagan P and Ms Vanshika Sai from 7th semester, Department of CSE conducted the workshop on Data Analysis using Hadoop and Hive used in real time scenario.
Hive allows users to read, write, and manage petabytes of data using SQL. Hive is built on top of Apache Hadoop, which an open-source framework is used to efficiently store and process large datasets. As a result, Hive is closely integrated with Hadoop, and is designed to work quickly on peta bytes of data.
Top 30 students of 5th semester attended the session at HP-Vertica Lab. The session ended with student discussion with the resource persons.
